Abstract
This dissertation is focused on metabolic disorders, such as BMI, blood pressure, lipids and glucose concentrations in people with severe mental illness (SMI). In a meta-analyses the effects of lifestyle interventions on cardiometabolic risk factors are examined. The course and prevalence of adequate drug treatment for metabolic disorders is studied over several years. Additionally the association between metabolic disorders and cannabis use, vitamin d and impaired cognitive functioning in these patients is examined.
